A battle with sun glare while competing at Camp Perry led Team Black Coyote shooter David Wilson to toss his sweat rag onto the brim of his hat to block the sun. Inspired by this Camp Perry experience, David set to work developing a sunshade that attaches to a typical hat and eliminates glare and peripheral distractions. The next year at Camp Perry, competitors began noticing David's unique sunshade design and inquired about it. Interest from his teammates and other shooters led to further refinement of the design and a handful of design variations.

After countless hours making sunshades for friends, David is pleased to introduce the Black Coyote Sunshade to the general public. Designed to fit any baseball or trucker style hat, the Black Coyote Sunshade adds side flaps that effectively eliminate sun glare and block peripheral distractions. Made of sturdy quilted black fabric, the sunshade has an opening which slips over the bill of your hat, and straps that secure around the back of your head with velcro. Its design will not interfere with ear muffs or other hearing protection. It can be easily slipped onto the bill of your hat when needed, and then conveniently removed and stowed in a pocket while you're on the way to pit duty or the next firing position.

The Black Coyote Sunshade is currently being sold by White Oak Armament and is becoming a common sight at service rifle competitions.
