Skill built stage by stage
The course asks a competitor to solve a different problem at every yard line. Standing tests control. Rapid fire tests preparation and rhythm. Six hundred yards tests judgment as the conditions shift.
Black Coyote shooters meet at major ranges across the eastern United States, including Oak Ridge, Camp Butner in North Carolina, Talladega in Alabama, and Camp Perry in Ohio.
Matches also depend on volunteers, coaches, scorers, and pit crews. The community around the firing line is as much a part of the sport as the shooting itself.
